Director and general manager Dave Sullivan said: “Vauxhall is the main sponsor of Home Nations Football, and we were approached to provide a Movano to the FA to act as support vehicle for the England national squads for training and match days.
“The amount of equipment required for training and playing can exceed 1,200kg and we identified the Movano as an ideal vehicle to accommodate such weight and volume. Comfort was a huge factor in choosing the right vehicle to meet the FA’s needs – when teams play in Europe it’s important that the transport is comfortable for covering long distances.
“Mark Simkin of the FA and his team are responsible for managing equipment for all of England’s national teams – which comes close to 200 matches and training sessions per year, so it was vital that he and his team were provided with an economical, reliable vehicle that ticked all the boxes. The Movano was the perfect choice and met the FA’s exacting standards. We’re delighted to have been able to support the national teams and we’ll be cheering them on this year in all of their fixtures,” said Dave.
The Movano range caters for a broad range of business requirement and is available as a standard panel van, tipper, dropside, minibus or box van. With that, customers can specify single or crew cab options plus a choice of three engine outputs namely 100hp, 125hp and 145hp (all Euro-5 compliant) coupled to either six-speed manual or automatic transmissions. The Movano’s powertrain sets high standards in terms of refinement and fuel economy in the full-size commercial vehicle segment. Furthermore three wheelbases are available and four roof heights (for panel van) can be specified.
