Jason is the commercial vehicle sales manager for Greenhous Vauxhall and he took on the challenge to raise funds for the Cancer Research UK charity in memory of his mother-in-law who had lost her personal battle with cancer. Jason recalls the excitement of the evening saying: “It was an exciting evening. I was not on until later in the evening so I could spend time with my family and friends watching the earlier bouts. I had about 40 supporters altogether which spurred me on to want to do well.
“I have raised around £900 for Cancer Research UK which exceeded my original target of £500. I am very grateful for the support I have received from family, friends and colleagues. The evening raised over £13,500 for the charity.”
Jason impressed so much he has been invited to compete for the Black Country in an event against Blackpool, at the seaside town. It will be over four rounds with lighter gloves and no head guards next time. We wish him luck.
