Greenhous Vauxhall Master Technician Barry ‘Baz’ Furber is raring to go in the prestigious Vauxhall International North West 200 race meeting this week. From Tuesday 9th May to Thursday 11th there is practice with racing on Thursday and Saturday 13th May. With 100 riders travelling at speeds of up to 209 mph entertaining an estimated 100,000 spectators over the period of the festival, it is certainly going to be an exciting time for Barry.
The North West 200 is the major competition before Baz prepares for the Isle of Man TT in June. The North West 200 is run over a stunning 11 mile triangle circuit, connecting Coleraine, Portrush and Portstewart in Northern Ireland. Baz will ride his new 1000 cc Kawasaki ZX10R, provided by Greenhous Vauxhall, in the Superstock race, and his Suzuki SV650 in the Supertwin class. He will compete with all of the top TT riders at the North West 200, including Michael Dunlop, John McGuiness and Guy Martin.
Vauxhall are main sponsors of the North West 200 and will provide trade stands and support vehicles and drivers for the duration of the event. They are also the main sponsors of the 13 round British Superbikes Championship.
