Greenhous has given a boost to this year’s Shrewsbury Carnival & Show which takes place on Saturday 17 June.

The car and commercial vehicle dealership which has showrooms in Shrewsbury and Telford is sponsoring the entertainment stage located in the Quarry Park, Shrewsbury.

The sponsorship is allowing a greater number of acts to perform throughout the day as the Shrewsbury Carnival & Show team increases the amount of entertainment for families attending the annual event.

This year acts performing include: Get Your Wigle On, The Retro Roses, Fiddlesticks, Alisha Jaye Dance Academy, Shropshire Ukulele Massive, Henry Maybury and Matt Bell, Kelly Dance, Desi Nach Bollywood Dancers and Roam Dance School.

Carnival Secretary, Shelley Oliver said: “We are thrilled Greenhous are sponsoring our stage this year, it’s great to have such a community minded local company supporting Shrewsbury’s largest free to attend event.

“It means we can afford to continue hiring a professional stage enabling us to bring acts into the Quarry that would be unable to perform otherwise. This in turn boosts the amount of money we raise for local charities.”

Kara Hoofe, Marketing Co-ordinator at Greenhous Group, is delighted with the opportunity to support the popular Shrewsbury Carnival. She explained: “Not only are we sponsoring the entertainment stage, but we are supplying two vehicles, a Vauxhall Insignia for the Mayor and a Vauxhall Vivaro van to tow the Carnival Queen carriage in the parade.  The Carnival is put on by volunteers for the benefit of the people of Shrewsbury which is a major reason why we are sponsoring.”

Shrewsbury Carnival takes place on Saturday 17 June 2017 with entertainment in the Quarry between 10am – 5pm and a parade around Shrewsbury town centre at 2pm.

The annual community event raises money from collections throughout the day and during the parade to support local charities at a time when sources of funding are limited.

Last year, nineteen local charities benefitted from the thousands of pounds raised. Charities will be invited to apply for a donation following the event.
