Vauxhall Wins What Van? Treble
Vauxhall has scored an impressive hat-trick at the What Van? Awards 2013 with new Combo clinching the Light Van of the Year prize, Corsavan winning the Small Van of the Year honour and the Luton-based manufacturer’s ecoFLEX range picking up the Green Award.

With a class-leading payload up to 1,000kg and impressive fuel economy of up to 58.9mpg, the new Combo is a worthy winner of the Light Van of the Year honour. The ever-popular Corsavan retained its Small Van of the Year title thanks to its capable chassis, frugal engines, spacious cabin and high levels of safety and security Vauxhall’s industry-first ecoFLEX van range scooped What Van?’s Green gong.

Back in January last year, Vauxhall was the first commercial vehicle manufacturer to feature an eco-model for each van in its range including Corsavan, Astravan, Combo, Vivaro and Movano. “Vauxhall’s hat-trick of What Van? Awards illustrates the strength of its light commercial offering,” said What Van? Editor Paul Barker.

“Both Corsavan and Combo are excellent vehicles offering many strengths, while the Green Award for the ecoFLEX range of low-emission vehicles reflects the fine job Vauxhall is doing in offering increasingly efficient vans to help cut operators’ costs as well as helping the environment.”

Steve Bryant, Brand Manager, Vauxhall Commercial Vehicles, said, “We are delighted to receive these awards from What Van?. The ever-popular Corsavan offers customers the perfect combination of functionality, eye-catching design and low running costs. While the New Combo really ups the ante; giving our customers great flexibility and a bigger choice of variants than ever before. It’s also great news to be recognised with the Green Award for our ecoFLEX range, the first of its kind in the commercial vehicle industry.”

The What Van? Awards have been one of the UK’s foremost light commercial vehicle prizes for more than two decades, with over 12 categories decided by the title’s expert editorial team that share decades of LCV experience. Vauxhall is the UK’s largest manufacturer of commercial vehicles building over 70,000 vans last year at its plants in Luton and Ellesmere Port, Cheshire.
